UOI 4 Celebration

We are so proud of our Grade One students for being communicators and risk-takers. They did so well on their 4th OUI Celebration, showcasing their inquiry of Sharing the Planet. In this UOI, Grade One students and their teachers asked each other questions and worked together to find ways to share the planet. The students devised ideas to conserve paper by reusing their old posters and worksheets to demonstrate that we can make new things without wasting the resources around us.

While this was happening, our Grade 5 students presented their investigation into the main idea that "Human migration is a response to challenges, risks, and opportunities". By interviewing various teachers about the reasons behind their emigration to Dongguan and China, the students looked into the matter and got to know them.

With the help of their teachers, the students created the interview questions and then worked in groups to interview the teachers. During their UOI celebration, they presented the data gathered from their conversations. Based on their performance, Grade 5 students and their teachers should be proud of how their inquiry has helped them learn new information and develop a deeper understanding of the humanities in our efforts to develop risk-takers and open-minded people.
